Custom Wavefront Guided LASIK

The VISX STAR S4 IR™ Excimer Laser System is designed to bring Advanced iDesign CustomVue™ laser vision correction to life. Featuring VSS Refractive™ technology (Variable Spot Scanning) and VRR™ (Variable Repetition Rate) pulse-packing algorithm, the STAR S4 IR™ Excimer Laser reduces thermal effects on the cornea, allowing our surgeons to perform the Advanced CustomVue procedure quickly and effectively.

Designed to increase patient comfort while maximizing patient safety, this system allows Dr. Ida Alul and Dr. Patricia Buehler to safely and effectively perform LASIK and PRK surgeries in the comfort of our local office.

Using the STAR S4 IR™ Excimer Laser System, our surgeons can deliver the broadest range of wavefront-guided laser vision correction treatments to patients. Additionally, the STAR S4 IR Excimer Laser System is designed to account for the small eye movements that patients will have during surgery. It has an eye tracking system that tracks your eye several times per second to ensure that each laser pulse reaches the eye in the exact proper position.

ActiveTrak™ 3-D Active Eye Tracking with automatic centering is the first FDA-approved tracker in the industry to track eye movements along the X, Y and Z axes. These features facilitate the accurate performance of the Advanced CustomVue™ procedure. The laser tracker follows your eyes during small movements. If your eye moves out of the range of the laser, it will pause, and then restart once you are properly aligned.

Bladeless LASIK

The IntraLase bladeless laser system is a remarkable advancement in laser vision correction technology to create a flap for LASIK surgery. It uses tiny pulses of laser light, a quadrillionth of a second each, which pass harmlessly through the outer portion of your cornea and form a uniform layer of microscopic bubbles just beneath the surface of your eye.  The exact dimensions of this layer of bubbles are determined by your surgeon based on what is best for your eye, and are computer controlled for maximum precision.

The IntraLase flap creation process takes about 15 to 20 seconds per eye. The IntraLase laser allows our surgeons to provide bladeless LASIK surgery with faster healing and visual recovery.

Our board-certified eye surgeons take every care necessary to ensure your procedure is as safe and effective as possible. We will work closely with you to address any concerns or questions you may have prior to your surgery.
